Retire — Debian 10 is EOL and this guide documents an outdated Drupal 8 update workflow using deprecated Drush 8 commands. The update methodology is no longer recommended and does not reflect modern Composer based update practices used in Drupal 10/11. It depends on other obsolete Debian 10 guides and would require a complete rewrite for current workflows. Replacement content is needed for Debian 12, Rocky/AlmaLinux 9, and Ubuntu 22.04/24.04.
Related work: PR #7334 updates OS installation content. While it does not replace this guide, it may serve as a model for future modernization efforts.
