Welcome to Source2 Mods! Here we have addons we share just for you gamers, who share & care. Yeah!
Checkout these source code of what we make, edit, hack, & even ruin, for Source2 (especially s&box and stuffs made with it).

Why s&box? What makes it better from previous itterations?

s&box is a spiritual Successor of Garry's Mod & love letter to Source2. From the same companny behind Garry's Mod (Source1 HL2) & Rust (Unity), Facepunch. It combined what have Facepunch learned from those previous game developments, and bring it all to here.

  • Dynamic Cache. Unlike Gmod & like CVR, s&box stores assets differently than typical Steam Workshop system (except dupes, which you can btw browse on classic Steam Workshop & Subcribe). No longer you need to subscribe & have to pre-download all those bajillions of Subcriptions you did have, You just need to browse, click, and spawn. That's it, only the assets you need for an experience. If memory is full, initiate cleaning! Then on the next experience, it'll download what it needs again! No Storage Pre-explosion per Subscription.
  • Liberty Access. Unlike CVR, Assets over the s&box Workshop can be freely used (in theory, check license chosen to those Assets!) for your own experience making. Games*, Maps, Addons, materials, etc., you can have them all. Make derivatives all you like, and even edit those vmdl as neccessary! Basically, No Encryption per compiled (.v***_c) asset (requires s&box itself). Proprietarists, go away!
    • To get those Assets, s&box includes Editor in your s&box purchase. Download the s&box Editor (it's just the 0B symlink binary) beside the main one in your Steam library.
    • When you are in a project, you can use Asset Browser down there, and explore ☁️ Workshop tab there.
    • Use the online tool to manage your Favourites & Collections, as well as post-editing your uploaded Assets descriptions.
    • * Not all games will have Source Code URL nand/nor FreeLibre license! Always check license file in their source code!, assume demonetized when too vague to be considered free-libre / when in doubt.
  • Familiarity. Similar to Unity, its editor packs with features and UX that's familiar with your previous engine you tried. As well as the coding system, powered by .NET, hence you can adapt your C# experiences to here.
    • You can also make Machinima with Movie Maker (View top menu, enable Movie Maker) here. Bring your legacy SFM vmdl to here?
    • Pls test if SFM files e.g. in SFMLab can be directly opened here! Every SFM models (& basically Source1 is) have .mdl files, with its descriptor under .vtx.

Why separate?: The above Unity mods is already too big. Also we have change on how to structure mods for this game, s&box / Source2.
We decided to make a difference for this Source2 Rabbithole, for now. And therefore, above Unity mods source code will be declared for Unity only.
We also have another personal reasons behind this.
