Support scheduling tool outside of W3C ecosystem #328

Description

@ianbjacobs

What would be necessary to make the scheduling tool available without integration into the w3c calendar and account systems? Independence from those systems would allow someone to:

  • Create a GitHub repo for session proposals
  • Create a custom session proposal template
  • Connect a spreadsheet to that repo
  • Read session proposals into the spreadsheet
  • Generate grids

That functionality alone is probably quite useful, even without calendar integration, and without some validation (e.g., about session chairs).

So my questions are:

  • Is there a subset of validation errors (e.g., related to chairs or other info requiring integration into w3c systems) that, in some contexts, could be ignored and allow the scheduler to proceed? (and errors could still be reported by the scheduler).
  • Can the tool be used without access tokens to W3C systems? If not, could it be made to proceed without access to the calendar and account systems?
