Sudden PowerRename permission requirement #46521

Description

Microsoft PowerToys version

0.98.0

Installation method

Other (please specify in "Steps to Reproduce")

Area(s) with issue?

PowerRename

Steps to reproduce

I don't remember where it came from

Image I've been removing the "." from zip files so I can email them But now I can't! There's a bug though, if you look closely the app HAS renamed the file... or it thinks it has! The filename is unchanged. Image

✔️ Expected Behavior

I've done this successfully many times, and I wonder if Microsoft changed permission somewhere? All of a sudden I'm a stranger to my own PC when I always had admin rights!

❌ Actual Behavior

The filename didn't change.
I was asked for permission over and over, but finally the app didn't recognise that it wasn't successful and the screen was changed to reflect a change that hadn't actually taken place.

My version won't generate a zip log.
