I understood this from the message in the pull request, but I don't want to use test.pypi.org, since I'll have to abandon it later anyway.

By the way, maybe it would make sense to create a source distribution as well, and not just wheels? Or will most users have problems with local compilation?

Jonathan provides that alternative in the meantime. So, if you don't want any alternatives, just keep waiting the soon official release.

@v-ein and @hoffstadt have a better understanding of this, but I think we're talking about nominal support for 3.14 here. Version 2.1.0 can't be installed on 3.14 because there are no ready-made wheels for 3.14, and source distribution isn't provided. So we're just waiting for wheels for 3.14. I can assume there won't be any modifications specifically for 3.14.

I once suggested publishing source distribution, among other things, but I suspected that it's not so easy to compile, so most people would only be able to get the wheels working. But, if I remember correctly, I didn't get a response.

Returning to the question about free theading. It was also available in 3.13. Try running it on 3.13t. If it works, then 3.14 shouldn't be a problem. And if not... well, you get the idea.

You can use uv or pyenv to get a pre-built Python 3.13t.

Nah, it crashes on 3.14t for me. I bet DPG code will need to be adapted to run on the free-threading Python runtime. So this is correct:

We'll be able to install it on 3.14, but it will be the old-style GIL threading, one thread at a time. No free-threading support yet.
