Simple clear contents icon at the end of a text field

I would like to see a small x clear button on the right of a BitTextField that would allow the value to be reset to empty. Options would include only visible when the field has data in it, icon name, possibly an event call back.

Does this sound like a useful feature?

I have used a SuffixTemplate and gotten it to work, but something built in would be great.
