Install ENV:

DMI: Dell Wyse 5070
CPU: Intel Pentium J5005
NIC: [10ec:8168] r8168
RR version: 26.4.0

Issue:

Cannot shutdown correctly on Dell Wyse 5070 (J5005).

After clicking "Shutdown" from DSM WebUI, DSM becomes inaccessible from browser, but the machine does not power off completely.

Symptoms:

  • Power LED still on
  • LAN LED still active
  • USB devices still powered
  • System still responds to ping
  • Need to hold physical power button to force shutdown

After powering on again, DSM reports:
"DS918+ experienced frequent improper shutdown."

I also tested with the full installation package and the same issue still happens.

Environment:

  • Bare metal installation (not VM)
  • Boot/install drive: M.2 SATA SSD
  • Storage drive connected using ORICO USB 3.0 enclosure
  • USB storage is faked/mapped as internal SATA
